IPTV Building Blocks
Figure 3 shows the basic building blocks that are required for implementing IPTV. The home gateway has to have the powerful processing power and enough network bandwidth to provide networking service and to cope with various customers. In order for a system operator to deliver IPTV, it would require encoding, broadcast, and do the appropriate management before the end-user can connect their set-top-box.
